Dubai Growing Fast – 5,000 New Residents Per Week

Burj Al ArabDubai is becoming increasingly popular with Britons – not least because many can live there tax-free. Over 50,000 Britons have now moved to Dubai, among them the current UK snooker champion, Peter Ebdon.

Speaking of his move in 2005, Peter Ebdon said, “The children have all been allocated school places and I can’t think of a safer place than Dubai for them to be.” Low taxation and hot weather were additional attractions.

Dubai’s phenomenal growth has continued in 2006, with over 5,000 new people per week moving to the emirate. By year-end, the population had reached 1.42 million.
